What is Advanced Process Control

Advance process control means the advancement of techniques and technologies applied to optimization of process control. It is used to deliver the most efficient and advanced resolution for any process or problem control, to maximize profits by minimizing wastage or expense and improving production. Advance process control usually applies to process industries like chemical, pharmaceutical, power generation, oil and mineral refining, etc. Model Predictive Control (MPC), Statistical Process Control (SPC), Run2Run (R2R) and Fault Detection and Classification (FDC) are the tools that used in Advance process control. The benefits of using advanced process control are:

1) Efficiency gains: It helps in increasing the yield, throughput and reduction in energy use and wastage of raw material per every unit produced.
2) Quality Increase: It is implemented for consistent improvement in the quality of product at a very minimal cost.
3) Flexibility: It increases the flexibility in manufacturing products as per the demands and response of the customer.
